History

Our History

Back in 2013, our founders recognized the potential for Bitcoin and other digital innovations to change the way people pay, save, and trade value, and they also understood the value of scale. This vision paved the way for the growth of our digital mining company, which is now a well-known brand in Bitcoin and GPU hosting services.

Since then, Sun Digital Assets mining operations have continued to scale, becoming the first digital mining company in North America to achieve 100, 250, and 500 megawatt operating capacities. We have assembled a team with extensive experience in the data center industry to scale our operations and efficiently deliver multiple forms of high-value computing.

  • 2017

    Sun Digital Assets was founded. Purchased first data center.

  • 2018

    Opened Marble, NC and Dalton, GA data centers

  • 2019

    Opened Calvert City, KY data center. Achieved 100 MW total operating capacity. Opened dedicated tier III GPU hosting data center.

  • 2021

    Opened Grand Forks, ND data center. Opened second Dalton, GA data center. Achieved 250 MW total operating capacity.

  • 2022

    Opened Denton, TX and Pecos, TX data centers. Achieved 500 MW total operating capacity. First to mine 50 Bitcoin in a single day.

  • 2023

    first bitcoin mining fleet management software capable of managing 1 million miners.
